A rare opportunity to hear a recital of poetry and prose featuring a rich mix of material, humorous and serious,from Malory and Milton to A.A.Milne and Dylan Thomas performed by Liverpool University graduate, Martin Jenkins.
Born and raised on Merseyside, University of Liverpool graduate Martin Jenkins has worked extensively across the USA, UK and Canada. As Chief Producer for Radio Drama at the BBC, Martin produced over a thousand programmes and has also written a number of plays for radio. His productions have won awards from around the world. In addition to this, Martin has written and co-authored a number of books, including several devoted to transport on Merseyside, including “Merseyside Transport Recalled”, published in 2014 . Recipient of an honorary doctorate from the University of Liverpool in 2006, Martin makes a number of return visits every year to work with students in the English Department.
